Balkar sandhu becomes mayor of Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: The senior Congress councillor

Balkar Sandhu

on Monday has became Mayor, the sixth of the industrial town.

Shyam Sunder Malhotra

and

Sarabjit Kaur

have been elected for the post of the senior deputy mayor and deputy mayor respectively. Earlier oath taking ceremony of 95 councillors took place followed by which the Mayor was elected.

The names of Balkar Sandhu, Shyam Sunder Malhotra and Sarabjit Kaur were elected unopposed. After being elected the Mayor Balkar sandhu showed gratitude towards party high command and claimed that he will arrange funds for city development works and financial crisis will be removed.

Balkar singh has remained councillor from five consecutive terms and he has become councillor for sixth time.

As soon as the names were announced, party workers and other leaders started gathering at the

office for wishing the newly elected team.
