Ludhiana: Ludhiana police have arrested a person for allegedly swapping ATM cards and withdrawing cash. Police claimed to have solved at least 15 cases, wherein the accused, Rajinder
Kumar Raj of Gobindsar Mohalla in Daba, had withdrawn money from the accounts after swapping ATM cards.

Tushar Gupta said that the team of Focal Point police, led by inspector Amandeep Singh Brar, arrested the accused after it seized Rs 16,000 which the accused had snatched away from a person of Gurubagh Colony, while he was withdrawing money from an ATM in Mundian area on Chandigarh Road on Wednesday.
He added that during questioning, police seized 34 ATM cards from him.
Cops said that it came to the fore that the accused would identify the targets by keeping a watch on people regularly visiting ATMs, and would swap their cards on the pretext of helping them. He would then withdraw money from their accounts, after seeing the PIN code.
Police said that during interrogation, the accused confessed to have carried out at least 15 such incidents in the last eight months. They added that he has four past cases of theft and cheating. tnn
