Astrologer booked for duping businessman of Rs 13 lakh

LUDHIANA: An astrologer from Vikas Nagar has been booked for duping a cycle parts businessman from Atam Nagar of Rs13 lakh on the pretext of settling his police case.
The accused has been identified as Abhishek Vohra.
In his complaint, Amarjeet Singh alleged that he had purchased a plot of 500 square feet on Barewal road in January 2014 and later it was discovered that the person who sold that plot was a fraud.

Following this, the actual owner of the land filed a complaint against Amarjeet in Malaud police station.
"After a month, Abhisekh Vohra approached me through a common friend and claimed that he had links with senior police officials and could help me settle my case. He took Rs13 lakh from me for the same. But, later he neither settled the matter, nor returned my money," Amarjeet Singh further alleged.
In March 3, 2014, Amarjeet Singh filed a police complaint against Abhishek. After investigation, an FIR was registered at Model Town police station under Section 420 of the IPC.
Investigating officer Sukhdeep Singh said police are investing the case and accused would be arrested soon.
