PATIALA: A farmer from Nabha block in Patiala district died at

Tikri border

on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Dhanna Singh, 65, of Tunga village and was vicepresident of BKU (Ekta Ugraha) Tunga village.

Farm leaders claimed that Dhanna and his brother had been at the protest site since the beginning of agitation on November 27. They said he was found dead in the morning and his body was taken to a nearby hospital in Bahadurgarh for post-mortem. “The deceased owned around 10 acres of land but we are still to get complete details about his farm debt,” said BKU (Ekta Ugraha) Patiala general secretary Jaswant Singh. A functionary of the outfit said, “He has left behind his mother Tej Kaur, wife Gurdev Kaur and three married children.”
