Ludhiana: Police booked five accused in a fraud case after they allegedly took loan from a bank using fake documents.
The accused were identified as Jaswinder Kaur, her husband Sukhdev Singh, her sons Hardeep Singh, Mandeep Singh and Hardeep's wife Rekha Rani, all of Kailash Nagar.
Complainant Vinod Kumar of Phillaur told the cops that the accused had hatched a conspiracy and prepared fake documents in the name of his deceased father Namdev.
He added that one of them took over his deceased father’s identity and transferred his property in his own name.
The complainant said later the accused took a loan of Rs 6.21 lakh on the same property, thereby committing a fraud. He added that after he came to know about it, he lodged a complaint with Ludhiana police in May this year.
Police officials said after a probe into the matter, a case of cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy was registered against all the accused.
