LUDHIANA: Ludhiana Counter Intelligence and Ludhiana city police arrested four accused involved in Molotov cocktail (petrol bomb) attack on two Hindu outfit leaders, while one accused is still absconding.
The police claimed that extremist Harjeet Singh Laddi, of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) is behind both the attacks.
Importantly, the police also managed to arrest one accused, who had arranged youngsters to execute both petrol bomb attacks and also the killers of Vishava Hindu Parishad (VHP) Vikas Prabhakar, to BKI.
Kuldeep Singh Chahal, Ludhiana Commissioner of Police said, “BKI’s Harjeet Singh Laddi who was behind the killing of VHP leader in Nangal Vikas Prabhaakar, is the main conspirator of both the attacks on Shiv Sena (Bharat Vanshi) leader Yogesh Bakhshi and Shiv Sena (Hind) leader Harkirat Singh Khurana. Petrol bomb was lobbed at Bakhshi’s house on October 17 and at Khurana’s house on November 2. Harjeet Singh Laddi’s aide Manish had arranged youngsters involved in drug peddling and other petty crimes, to execute the attack.”
The top cop said arrested accused are Ravinderpal Singh, Jaswinder, Manish and Anil and the absconding accused is Lovepreet Singh.
Chahal also said that the motive behind the attack was to threaten both the leaders and the rason for both the attack was their ‘provocative’ content on social media.
