3 held for possessing illegal weapons

Ludhiana: The rural police of Ludhiana have arrested three persons and seized arms and ammunition from their possession. The accused were identified as Gurvinder Singh of Malomajra in Patiala district, Gurpiyar Singh of Rajpura Masani in Sangrur and Akashdeep Singh of Kakrala in Patiala district.
The recoveries from them include a .32 bore country-made revolver, two rounds of bullets, a country-made 0.315 bore weapon, it’s four rounds, a kirch (sharp-edged weapon) and a car.
Police officials said on Saturday evening, a team from crime investigating agency (CIA) stopped a car at a check post. But the accused tried to reverse and escape, but were stopped and rounded up.
Police said from the accused were booked under Arms Act at Sadar Raikot police station.
