2 drug peddlers held, 250gm heroin seized

Ludhiana: The CIA-II and anti-narcotic cell of the Ludhiana Police Commissionerate arrested two drug peddlers in two separate cases. Police also recovered 250gm heroin and Rs 10,000 drug money from their possession. The accused have been identified as Sandeep Singh Sanju, 28, of Ferozepur and Gaurav Batra, 31, of Ludhiana’s Rahon Road.
Deputy commissioner of police (investigation) Harmeet Singh Hundal said that the team of CIA-II arrested Sandeep from a checkpoint at the vegetable market crossing at Chandigarh Road.On frisking, 200gm heroin was recovered from him.
The accused is facing trial in two cases of drug peddling registered in police stations of Ferozepur and Fazilka.
Additional deputy commissioner of police (investigation) Rupinder Kaur Sra said that a team of the anti-narcotic cell arrested Gaurav Batra from Sundar Nagar area and recovered 50gm heroin, Rs 10,000 drug money, an electronic weighing machine and 20 empty pouches from his possession. Gaurav is also facing trial in three cases, including a case of drug peddling.
