100 take part in dist open badminton championship
Ludhiana: On the opening day of the sub-junior district open championship for U-11 as well as U-13 (boys and girls), league round matches were conducted by the members of the Punjab Badminton Association on Sunday at Shastri Hall of Guru Nanak Dev stadium.
As many as 100 shuttlers from across the district showcased their performances in different age categories of matches.
Speaking with some of the players on the third day of the tournament, Shubham Atwal, said, “The Punjab Badminton Association has provided best of infrastructure for players. We are waiting for the final list of selected players for the state
President of the association M S Grewal said a selection committee had been appointed for selecting best players.
“We are providing best of infrastructure to players so that they improve their sports skills and give best performances in the district-level tournament,” he said. Many participants have appeared for the district tournament this year.
