NEW DELHI: A young couple was found dead with bullet wounds at a homestay in Kotwali area of Ayodhya, a senior police officer said on Monday.Ayodhya's Superintendent of Police (SP) Chakrapani Tripathi confirmed the discovery of two bodies at Gauri Shankar Palace homestay on Sunday evening."On the evening of 13th July, information was received at Kotwali Ayodhya that a young man and woman staying in a homestay named Gauri Shankar Palace were not responding despite repeated knocking on the door. On this information, Ayodhya police, forensic team and other senior officers immediately reached the spot," Tripathi said.The police recovered a pistol from the room and are conducting investigations. The authorities will proceed with additional legal procedures following the post-mortem examination today."In the presence of independent witnesses, the door was broken in front of the camera recording. Both the young man and the woman were found dead inside, and a pistol was found there, and there were bullet marks on the bodies of both. The remaining recovery and legal action is being done. Soon, the post-mortem will be conducted, and necessary legal action will be taken," he added.Additional details are pending.A similar incident occurred in March this year when authorities discovered a recently married couple deceased in their Cantonment area bedroom. The woman was located on the bed, whilst her husband was found suspended from the ceiling fan.
