Yogi is purifying politics: American Vedic scholar
Lucknow: American Vedic scholar Dr David Frawley on Friday praised chief minister Yogi Adityanath for purifying politics and said his leadership was a blessing not only for India but also for the world."Yogi Adityanath possesses radiance because he is ‘Aditya', associated with the solar principle. For self-knowledge, we look towards Aditya, and the sun is the foundation of yoga. Spending even a few moments with Yogi Adityanath is a great honour and a lifelong experience," he said after meeting the chief minister in Lucknow.
Frawley said the Nath tradition, to which Yogi belongs, was paving a new path for global welfare. "As the head of the Gorakshpeeth, Yogi is associated with the Nath tradition, which is rooted in ancient Yogic culture. He is not only preserving these traditions but also expanding them globally," Frawley said. He hailed the CM for working towards the health and well-being of the body, mind and society, saying that all Indian traditions that are relevant to humanity are gaining renewed energy through Yogi Adityanath. Frawley spoke about the necessity to revive the Vedas, Yoga and Ayurveda, among other Indian traditions, in a world that was gradually losing its spiritual consciousness. He also appreciated the govt's work on development of Ayodhya, saying that the city's rejuvenation signified a return to the Vedas. Frawley was born in a Catholic family in the USA. He studied Ayurveda for nearly a decade and has written numerous books on the Vedas, Hinduism, Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedic astrology. In 2015, he was conferred with Padma Bhushan. In the same year, he was also awarded by the South Indian Education Society in Mumbai for his contributions to the fields of Ayurveda, yoga and Vedic astrology.
