GORAKHPUR: The Bharatiya Yuva Manch, a local voluntary organisation, has filed a writ petition in the Allahabad High Court against the Union government and three others, including district magistrate, Gorakhpur, for not taking steps against cinema hall owners who are showing shots of blue films to viewers by inserting their clippings in normal films.
The manch has also expressed concern at obscene film posters which have flooded the city.
Talking to media persons here on Sunday, Bhartiya Yuva Manch president Kalishankar alleged that some cinema halls were showing selected shots of blue films to people.
These shots were inserted in adult films just to attract the people, he said.
Kalishankar added that the district magistrate was apprised of the situation by the media as well as manch representatives but he took no step to penalise owners of cinema halls.
Kalishankar requested the Allahabad High Court to allow the petition and direct the right authority to take action against cinema hall owners in accordance with the law for the screening of blue films.
The president of the manch also urged the court to direct the district administration to remove obscene posters which had been pasted by owners of different cinema hall just to attract the people.
