Woman gets hand cycle at CM’s Janata Darbar

Lucknow: Usha Devi, a differently abled woman whose hand cycle was broken, was given a new hand cycle at chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s Janata Darbar recently.

A government spokesperson said Usha Devi, a resident of Telibagh in Lucknow, used to set up a small shop on her hand cycle but since it got broken recently, she had not been able to earn any money.

“Earlier she used to work in homes but lost her job during the Covid-19 pandemic. She scraped together some money to buy the hand cycle which, unfortunately, broke,” the spokesperson said.

An acquaintance of Usha’s told her about the Janata Darbar and asked her to try her luck there. “When she visited the CM residence and informed officials of her problem, it was addressed immediately and she was handed a new hand cycle on the spot,” the spokesperson added.
