Woman dies in Chinhat, police suspect poisoning

LUCKNOW: A 23-year-old woman died under mysterious circumstances at her house in Chinhat on Friday night. According to police, the woman identified as Geeta Devi (23) of Chinhat lived with her husband Dilip and their children.
On Friday, she reportedly consumed some substance after an argument with her husband. As her condition deteriorated, she was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where she died later.According to police, the doctors said that prima facie the woman had consumed something poisonous, which could be ascertained only with a post mortem examination.
Police spokesman, Arun Kumar Singh said the body has been sent for autopsy and investigations are underway. "We are also awaiting a formal complaint to be lodged by the parents of the deceased," he said.
