LUCKNOW: Bid to stop a couple from smoking in Kukrail forest area proved costly to a forest official as the enraged woman bit his ear, leaving the man bleeding.
The incident took place on Saturday afternoon, but the case was lodged at Gudamba police station on Sunday.
“The couple, sitting on their parked scooter, were smoking. I advised them against it due to the risk of causing a fire. However, they responded with aggression, and the situation quickly escalated into a violent confrontation,” Vikas, 22, a contractual forest employee, recounted the harrowing ordeal to police.
Vikas said he was in the jungle to investigate reports of a fire in phase 2.
“During the altercation, the woman attacked me, biting off one of my ears in a fit of rage. Left injured and alone, I called out for help, but there was no one around. The assailants fled the scene hastily on their scooter upon hearing my cries,” Vikas added.
Nitish Kumar Srivastava, station house officer (SHO) of Gudamba, confirmed that the woman had used her teeth to sever Vikas's right ear. The police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators.
“An FIR has been registered against the unidentified individuals based on the scooter's registration number under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 324 (causing hurt by a dangerous weapon) of the Indian Penal Code,” stated the SHO.
Srivastava said that the victim was taken to hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
