With AIR 58, Kanishk tops JEE Kanpur zone

Kanishk Sharma from Orai, who bagged an All India Rank (AIR) 58, topped the Kanpur zone in JEE (Advanced) 2022, the results of which were declared by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) on Sunday.Kanishk was the only one to get a rank under 100 in the Kanpur zone.

LUCKNOW: Kanishk Sharma from Orai, who bagged an All India Rank (AIR) 58, topped the Kanpur zone in JEE (Advanced) 2022, the results of which were declared by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) on Sunday.
Kanishk was the only one to get a rank under 100 in the Kanpur zone. As many as four candidates figured in the top 200 and eight candidates figured in the top 300 ranks from the zone.
Meanwhile, Pragati Agarwal from Gorakhpur topped among the female category in the Kanpur zone with AIR 545.
Kanishk, who aspires to pursue computer science engineering from IIT-Bombay shared his success mantra with TOI, “I didn’t do anything extra for getting under 100-rank. Like other aspirants, I too studied from NCERT books, took as many mock tests as I could and made sure to give equal time to all subjects.”
He said that the daily revision of concepts is the most important part of JEE preparation. “Every aspirant should make sure to revise previous topics before they begin studying a new one. I was expecting a good rank as I was among 24 candidates from across the country who had scored 100 percentile in JEE Main 2022 exam. After completing engineering, I want to serve the nation by becoming an IAS officer. I give credit for my success to my teachers and my parents,” he added.
Girl topper from the Kanpur zone Pragati Agarwal also shares a similar dream of pursuing computer science engineering from IIT-Bombay.
“I have been preparing for the JEE since class IX. Focus and hard work is the key to cracking the national level engineering entrance examination,” said Pragati.
Other candidates who figured in the top five ranks in the IIT Kanpur zone were Atharv Moghe (AIR 170), Kanak Barfa (AIR 189), Arvind Kumar Yadav (AIR 192) and Harshit Srivastava (AIR 215).
