Lucknow: Working as SP City, Jhansi, Garima Singh cracked the civil services 2015 exam securing AIR-55. "I was briefing press about a loot incident when I received a message from my husband and I didn't know how to react. I wanted to scream, but couldn't,'' said Garima while speaking to TOI.
Hailing from Ballia, this was Garima's third attempt. In 2013, she cracked IPS and was posted as assistant SP in Lucknow. In 2014, she couldn't make it to civils. "Preparing for civil services while serving as a police is a difficult task. But I didn't compromise with my job. My seniors were very supportive,'' said Garima.
An alumni of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar, Garima pursued BA History (Hons) from St Stephen's College,
Delhi University and then joined MA History (Hons) again from St Stephen's College.
Garima's father is an engineer in a Gurgaon company and her mother is a home-maker. Her husband is an engineer in Gurgaon.
