The deceased was identified as Sanjay Verma, 35, a resident of Naseerpur Devkaliya village in Manpur.Initial investigations suggested involvement of family members in the murder.Call recording and other key evidence led the cop to Sanjay's wife and three others, resulting in the arrests.SP Sitapur, Chakresh Mishra, said that during interrogation, it was revealed that Neha was in a relationship with Badshah for nearly five years. "Wanting to eliminate her husband, she conspired with Badshah and his associates, Mohit and Ravi. She offered them Rs 5 lakh in exchange for Sanjay's murder. The accused agreed and executed the crime for financial gain," said the officer. Badshah, Ravi, and Mohit lured Sanjay to the Puraeni Bridge in Biswan, where they slit his throat with a knife. They then disposed of his body in the canal near the bridge. To avoid suspicion, Neha filed a missing person report. However, a critical call recording exposed the conspiracy, leading to the breakthrough in the case.
