LUCKNOW: In a swift breakthrough, Lucknow police arrested three suspects linked to a daring bank heist at the Indian Overseas Bank in Chinhat. The accused, identified as part of a gang from Bihar, looted jewellery worth crores after breaching a two-and-a-half-foot wall to access 30 lockers.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Zone) Shashank Singh revealed that the suspects were caught during a routine check near Laulai village. One of them, Arvind Kumar, opened fire on the police but was injured in retaliatory firing. His two accomplices Balram Bind and Kailash Kumar surrendered without resistance.
The burglars, caught on CCTV with an electric cutter, spent two hours inside the bank early Sunday. Interestingly, they left Rs 12 lakh cash untouched. The crime came to light when a neighboring shopkeeper noticed the wall breach.
The police are investigating further to recover the stolen valuables and track down other gang members.
Police said that Rs 3 lakh in cash was recovered along with 1889 gram gold and 1240 gram silver from their possession. Four others still wanted in the crime.
