LUCKNOW: A group against whom more than four dozen FIRs had been lodged in five

was found taking refuge in the city. Special task force of UP police arrested Rakesh Verma, Pankaj Soni, Vijay Verma and Pawan Verma from different apartment buildings in Vibhuti Khand late Monday.

The four had registered a firm Prachi gas bottling pvt ltd in 2011. Thereafter, the group advertised about their firm in newspapers in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Harayana and Himachal Pradesh.

“The group claimed to be in gas production and bottling with pan-India network to distribute CNG gas and invited

. Once some parties had paid Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, the

gang

would change locations. So far, STF has managed to gather details of 51 FIRs that lodged against the group in five states.

STF additional SP S Anand said the group was being interrogated. “We are checking if they duped some people from Uttar Pradesh as well,” added Anand.
