Uttar Pradesh: Mukhtar Ansari tests negative for Covid-19
Don-turned politician Mukhtar Ansari had reached Banda jail on Wednesday morning from Ropar in Punjab
LUCKNOW: Don-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari was tested negative for Covid-19 as per antigen testing on Wednesday evening.
Banda jail officials said that Mukhtar was not tested while being brought from Ropar jail in Punjab. Hence, his antigen test was conducted on Wednesday in Banda.
Don-turned politician Mukhtar Ansari had reached Banda jail on Wednesday morning from Ropar in Punjab. A convoy of six police vans, a Vajra Vahan accompanied the don in an ambulance covering a distance of 882km spanning three states for over 16 hour journey.

Mukhtar returned to Banda jail almost 27 months after he was lodged here till January 2019.
Jail officials said that Mukhtar entered the prison around 5 am after his arrival and a team of doctors checked him and found him healthy.
“A team of doctors also collected his samples for test, a report of which showed him negative,” said jail officials.
