Uttar Pradesh: ‘Inflation is BJP’s Diwali gift to people’

LUCKNOW: Tweaking BJP’s slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ to ‘Poonjipatiyon ka saath, Poonjipatiyon ka vikas’, Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday targeted BJP led governments at the centre and in UP.
In a tweet, Priyanka wrote, “BJP’s Diwali gift to people: steep inflation. BJP’s Diwali gift to its capitalist friends: six airports.BJP is with capitalists, for their development,” while referring to the news about Lucknow Airport being leased to Adani Group for 50 years.
She further tweeted that the price of potato has risen by almost 100% and of onion by 50% in a year.
“While the public is suffering due to rising prices of vegetables, the farmers who grow them do not get their prices and their debt burden is increasing. This government is enemy of farmers, poor and middle class,” the Congress general secretary said.
