LUCKNOW: In a major administrative overhaul, the UP government transferred 51 IAS officers and 48 PCS officers on Monday night. With this, the total number of IAS officers shifted within this month has gone up to 134, which includes more than 35 district magistrates. Over 100 IPS officers and an equal number of PCS and PPS officers have also been transferred in this month so far.

Senior bureaucrat Sanjiv Saran, who was awaiting posting, following his removal from the post of chief executive officer (CEO) Noida on the orders of Allahabad High Court on November 8, 2012, has been made the principal secretary, tourism, department of culture and director general, tourism. Rajiv Kapoor, principal secretary, technical and professional education has been divested of the additional charge of principal secretary, infrastructure and industrial development and executive director, Udyog Bandhu. He will continue to work as principal secretary technical and professional education.
Sanjay Agarwal, principal secretary, medical, health and family welfare has been made principal secretary, department of infrastructure and industrial development and executive director, Udyog Bandhu. Pravir Kumar, principal secretary, urban development, urban employment and housing & urban planning department has been divested of the charge of principal secretary, urban development and urban employment and has been made principal secretary, medical and health. He will however continue to hold the charge of principal secretary housing and urban planning department.
CB Paliwal, who was awaiting posting, has been posted as principal secretary, urban development and urban employment. Kumar Arvind Singh Dev, who was also awaiting posting, is now principal secretary, dairy development and managing director of PCDF. He will also hold the minor irrigation portfolio, as principal secretary. Rajnish Gupta, commissioner and secretary, Board of Revenue, UP, Lucknow has been made transport commissioner, while Anil Kumar-2, who was awaiting posting, has been made commissioner and secretary, Board of Revenue, UP, Lucknow.

MP Agarwal, district magistrate, Kanpur Nagar, is now the new housing commissioner. Arvind Narain Mishra, secretary, finance, has been made commissioner, food safety and drug administration department. Ravi Prakash Arora, managing director of UP Sahkari Chini Mill Sangh, has been made district magistrate of Azamgarh, while Lal Bihari, special secretary of backward class welfare department has been made district magistrate of Sambhal.
Meanwhile, out of 48 PCS officers, Chandra Shekhar, joint secretary, Lucknow Development Authority, has been made ADM (nagar) Kanpur Nagar, while Gyanendra Singh, city magistrate, Lucknow is now posted as ADM (finance/revenue) Etawah.
