LUCKNOW: When
Sanjana Singh, 22, reached the
CM
’s residence to attend ‘janata darshan’ programme on Friday morning, she hoped to get some assistance for a gall bladder surgery that she required urgently, but had no idea that all her problems would be resolved within no time.
During her conversation with Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath, Sanjana told him that she had a lump in her gall bladder and required surgery. She first sought treatment in her hometown Fatehpur but was then referred to a hospital in Kanpur, and subsequently to Lucknow.
The CM immediately directed officials to ensure that she was provided free treatment and all arrangements should be made for her family to stay in Lucknow during the course of her treatment.
Sanjana has now been admitted to
SGPGI
where her treatment has already begun.
Thanking the CM, Sanjana’s brother Sumit said the treatment would have cost them Rs 4-5 lakh but with the government’s assistance, they would be spared a financial crisis. “Our father passed away over a decade ago and there are seven members in my family – my mother, four sisters and two brothers. We earn our livelihood through farming,” he said.
