LUCKNOW: Launching a counter-offensive, the BJP has termed the UPCC demand for CBI probe into land allotment to RSS in Uttar Pradesh as ''drama'' to cover up corruption during their own rule.
Party spokesman H N Dixit charged the Congress with "institutionalising corruption in the country".
Without taking names, he alleged that it was the Prime Minister who was charged for graft and that several ministers of the party had already faced such charges and not many of them had come out clean.
The BJP was irked by the UPCC move to submit a memorandum to the governor to direct the Mulayam government for ordering a CBI probe into land allotments to RSS and its allies during the BJP regime.
The BJP spokesman pointed that the move was aimed at wooing Muslims. "Congress wants to appease Muslim by targeting Hindu organisations. Before levelling such wild allegations, Congress should set its own house in order first," stated Dixit.
He also reminded UPCC leaders how they had misused UPSRTC buses and had not paid up its dues till date.
