AYODHYA: A US Embassy delegation from New Delhi comprising political officer Karen McCrea and economic and political specialist Kavleen Chatwal held talks with the trustees of Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF), the Ayodhya Masjid Trust. The American diplomats discussed the proposed mosque-hospital project at Dhannipur of Ayodhya.

The two-hour long meeting held at a prominent hotel was attended by the IICF president Zufar Farooqui, trust secretary Athar Husain and trustee Mohammad Rashid.

The American delegates recorded all the details regarding the Ayodhya project of the IICF, specially the world-class charitable hospital and mosque to be built in Ayodhya.

Talking to TOI, Husain said, "We had a long discussion with the US delegation over the Babri Masjid and Ramjanmabhoomi issue that had a great impact on the political discourse of a vast population of South Asia and that after the Ayodhya verdict there is hope that all such long standing issues can be resolved peacefully".

"The situation post the Ayodhya verdict, where Muslims having faith in the judiciary accepted the verdict hoping to reduce the Hindu-Muslim divide arising out of the Ayodhya dispute, emphasises that Muslims still look up to the higher judiciary on issues of dispute for justice with a high hope," said Farooqui.
