Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh madrassa board has rejected the recommendation of the national commission for protection of child rights (NCPCR) to shift non-Muslim students out of madrassas into other education institutions.
The decision was taken following a review meeting of board members in Lucknow, including chairperson Iftikhar Ahmed Javed and director, minority welfare, UP, J Ribha.
“A unanimous decision was taken by the madrassa education board to reject the NCPCR recommendations. Neither will we conduct any kind of investigation against any madrassa giving admission to non-Muslim students, nor will we shift non-Muslim students from madrassas to any other education institute,” said chairperson Iftikhar.
