LUCKNOW: Using the option of postal ballot, governor Ram Naik and his wife exercised their franchise on Wednesday from Raj Bhavan itself.
The governor did so to avoid travelling to Mumbai to cast his vote on April 29.
According to him, he did so to avoid expenditure on travelling with his family, security and personal staff and also to avoid burden on the local polling booth as he is under Z+ security cover.
1x1 polls

Naik and his wife Kunda, who are enrolled in the list of Mumbai North-West parliamentary constituency, sent their postal ballots by Speed Post to returning officer Hemant Rao.
The postal ballot was certified by the additional chief secretary of Raj Bhavan.
Governors and their spouses are privileged as 'special voters' by the Constitution and entitled to postal ballot.
