Govt has doubled UP Police budget in 6 years

With crime control and upkeep of law and order among its top priorities, the state government doubled budget allocation for the state home department and subsequently the state police over the past six years.As a result, the allocation for UP Police doubled from Rs 16,115 crore in 2017 to Rs 32,665 crore in 2022-23.

The current fiscal size of the economy is estimated to be around Rs 20. 48 lakh crore. Going by the current value of rupee against dollar, for making UP a one trillion-dollar economy, the size of UP’s economy should be roughly over Rs 80 lakh crore.
