An undertrial accused in a double murder case fled away from the court premises in Lucknow, after giving a slip to the police guarding him, police said today.

LUCKNOW: An undertrial accused in a double murder case fled away from the court premises in Lucknow, after giving a slip to the police guarding him, police said today.
The accused, Sudhakar Pandey who is currently lodged in the jail escaped while being taken to be produced before additional district judge, from the court lock up yesterday, they said.

Pandey is an accused in murder of former general secretary of Lucknow University student Union Vinod Tripathi and his accomplice Gaurav SIngh in 2007.
Police said that constable Harpal Singh, who was accompanying Pandey, has also been taken into custody.
