LUCKNOW: Through a performance that touched hearts, little children successfully put forth the message of the ill consequences of underage driving. A street play, organised under the Drive Lucknow campaign by TOI in association with Shubham Soti Foundation, presented how violating traffic norms can be fatal.

Portraying the tragedy that hit Priya and her family, Indu Subhash, a social activist and convener of the play, highlighted the issue of under-age driving and requested the audience to spread awareness about consequences of under-age driving and breaching traffic norms.
While Subhash appealed to the people to extend their support and participation in spreading awareness about road safety, Ashutosh Soti, the founder and president of Shubham Soti Foundation, requested parents and teachers to discourage under-age driving.
Kriti Verma, a teacher from Seth MR Jaipuria School, acknowledged the rise in the number of students driving two-wheelers without a licence and assured her cooperation in spreading the message of road safety.

Several people shared painful experiences of losing their loved ones in road accidents and reaffirmed the importance of following traffic norms.
Vikas Sinha, a businessman from the city, said, “I lost my wife and 2-year-old son in a road accident last year. Every moment, I feel I should have asked her to wear a helmet. At least she would not have died”.
In the remembrance of all those who died in road accidents, Indu Subhash urged people to follow road safety rules not as rules but as precautions for their own selves.
