U’khand natives celebrate Harela festival

Lucknow: Praying for better harvest this holy month of Shrawan, natives of Uttarakhand living in the city celebrated ‘Harela’ festival on Monday.
While Parvatiya Mahaparishad organised a function at its office in Gomtinagar, Uttarakhand Mahaparishad hosted a programme in its Mahanagar premises. Organized in the holy month of Shrawan, the festival marks the onset of monsoon season. On Monday, dressed in their traditional green and red attires, the women sang folk songs and performed ‘Jhora’ dance.
Marking the occasion, Uttarakhand Mahaparishad distributed 100 saplings in its programme.
