LUCKNOW:
Lucknow University is yet to publish the examination results of all its undergraduate programmes. The most hit are the third year students who are now left in a lurch. Reason: They want to pursue various post-graduate and professional courses but do not have their marksheets.
"It's really disheartening. I wanted to go in for my MBA from IMS, Ghaziabad. But the basic requirement of a marksheet became a hurdle.
I do not even know whether I have cleared the exams, and if yes, when would I get to see my marks. How am I supposed to go for my PG admissions," lamented Nazia Siddiqui, who is waiting for her BCom results.
Same is the case with Sanjay Singh, who is waiting for his BCA, semester VI results. Feeling helpless, Sanjay rued: "The university is playing with the lives of thousands of students. I thought of taking admission in Delhi University for MCA. But the first thing they ask is the aggregate marks in bachelors. To top that, the last date is June 30. It seems that I would end up joining Lucknow University albeit unwillingly."
"Other universities in the state like Banaras Hindu University and Allahabad University have already declared their results. If the LU does not declare results soon, all our hopes would be dashed. There are universities that take admission on merit basis. As per now, all those options are closed for me. It's a request to the university to declare the results soon," said Abhay Singh, who is waiting for BCom third year result.
Sounding equally worried were two other students, Manvendra Singh and Mudit Mishra. They said: "It's like putting at stake the career of students. Similar was the case last year too. The results came late and the third year students were the worst hit. If we want to go for a good college, either we would have to drop an year or take admission in Lucknow University."
Pursuing Bachelor of Science from Lucknow University, a final year student, Nitin Gupta said: "No doubt, there are problems in the universities that take students on merit basis. With no results in hands, it is certainly tough to select colleges."
