Two youths recruited as SI on fake certificates booked

Lucknow: Lucknow Police on Thursday registered an FIR against two fraudsters who secured the post of sub-inspector in the direct recruitment drive 2020-21 conducted by UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), Lucknow by submitting fake certificates.
The two accused were identified as Vikrant of Bulandshahr, who submitted a fake OBC (other backward castes) certificate and Rahul Rawat, also of Bulandshahr who submitted a dependent of freedom fighter certificate.
The names of the duo were recommended for training. Both of them had alo joined the training at Police Training School in Sultanpur. The fraud surfaced when the UPPRPB cross-checked the certificates which were sent for training at different schools. Upon inspection, it was found that both the accused had submitted fake certificates.
Following this, under secretary, UPPRPB, Prem Chand lodged a complaint against the two fraudsters.
SHO, Hussainganj, JP Singh, said that an FIR under the charges of IPC 420 (cheating), IPC 419 (cheating by personation) have been lodged.
