AGRA: Two senior IPS officer in Uttar Pradesh Police are at loggerheads due to 'lack of work and resources' in their department.
The matter came to light on Thursday after an RTI reply by UP police revealed, that a conflict of interest has erupted in the Rules and Manual office, as IG Amitabh Thakur and ADG
Jasvir Singh, both of them have been posted in the same office for the same job.
IG Amitabh ThakurIG Thakur took charge of Rules and Manual office since 2015, while ADG Singh got his posting in November, 2017.
According to the RTI reply, IG Amitabh Thakur and ADG Jasvir Singh, both are from 1992 batch, but Thakur joined force on October 11, 1992 after training, while Singh joined force September 5, 1993. Hence IG Amitabh Thakur is senior to ADG Jasvir Singh, but due to departmental inquiry setup against Thakur, Singh superseded his senior on January 1, 2017 and become ADG.
ADG Jasvir SinghIn the RTI reply, ADG Establishment SB Shiradkar wrote that IG Amitabh Thakur is senior to Jasvir Singh in the seniority list, but he is still IG because he has not been promoted while Jasvir Singh is ADG, hence dispute has arisen because of current posting.
Noteworthy, that there is only ADG post in Rules and Manual office but no IG post.
Further, in the RTI reply, ADG Karmik Neera Rawat (DGP headquarter), wrote that there is not much work and resources in the Rules and manual office, hence Amitabh may be posted as IG Food Cell or IG Home Guards.
DGP Om Prakash Singh had directed to put up a proposal in this regard but no further action has been taken so far.
