lucknow: two labourers were buried when a mud wall caved in on tuesday in ashiyana police circle. the incident took place in natwadi village under ashiyana police station where kishan singh, a contractor residing in pakripul area was getting mud dug out for loading on a truck around midnight on monday. a wall of mud caved in burying ropulal (28) of aurangabad and shiv ratan (50) of makau khera in banthara.
the other labourers tried to remove the mud under which the two were buried but by the time the rescue was complete, the two had died. a case has been registered in connection with the incident and the bodies of the two have been sent for post-mortem examination. police have also initiated action against the contractor kishan singh charging him with negligence resulting in death of the labourers. fire: a portion of the house belonging to gaya prasad of hardoiya lalnagar in kakori was gutted and domestic utilities reduced to ashes when fire broke out late on monday night. the cause of the fire could not be ascertained till late on tuesday evening. car theft: poornanand lakhan of jankipuram lodged an fir with the hazratganj police stating that his fiat car (dbb 8299) was stolen from outside moti mahal in hazratganj on monday. burglaries: miscreants broke into the house of swaminath in ramnagar locality under krishnanagar police station and decamped with cash, jewellery and other household items on monday morning. in another similar incident reported from jankipuram colony in gudumba police circle burglars decamped with jewellery, cash and other domestic utilities from the house of sanjeev lal.
