Twenty migrants injured after pickup van collides with truck in Faizabad

LUCKNOW: At least 20 migrant labourers suffered injuries after a pickup van they were travelling in collided head on with a truck in Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning. The accident took place at NH-28 under Kotwali police station area.


The van with labourers from Pune was traveling to Siddharth Nagar district, said the police.

SSP Faizabad, Ashish Tiwari, said that all those injured were out of danger. "We have started a probe in order to know exact sequence of events leading to the accident," said Tiwari.

He also said that prima facie it appears that the van carrying passengers was over taking a truck while another truck coming from opposite direction collided with it head-on, the officer said.

All the injured are recuperating at district hospital.
