LUCKNOW: An MP/MLA court in Barabanki rejected the discharge application moved by Mukhtar Ansari in connection with an ongoing case of fake registration of documents of an ambulance that ferried him from Barabanki to Ropar jail when he was lodged in Punjab prisons in 2021. Government counsel said the framing of charges will be on June 9.

Former MLA Mukhtar Ansari appeared on Monday before Special Judge, Barabanki, MP/MLA Court Kamalkant Srivastava through video conferencing from Banda Jail for a hearing on discharge application. ADGC, Mathura Prasad Verma said the application to discharge was presented by Mukhtar Ansari but it got rejected. “The court has fixed June 9 as date for framing of charges against all 13 accused, including Mukhtar Ansari ,” said Verma. Mukhtar’s lawyer Randhir Singh Suman said he will file a revision petitionbefore the High Court.
