LUCKNOW: At least ten people were killed and several others sustained injuries when a tempo overturned in Hardoi district's Bilgram area on Wednesday noon.
The accident occurred near Roshanpur on the Bilhaur-Katra State Highway when an oncoming truck forced the tempo to lose control.
Police sources confirmed that the tempo crashed after the truck appeared suddenly, causing it to overturn.
Among the injured, three are reported to be in critical condition, while others are receiving treatment at the district hospital.
The victims include women, girls, boys, and two men.
Authorities are working to identify the deceased.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck driver and his helper fled the scene shortly after the incident.
