The bullet pierced through the head of Ankit of Sarojininagar, who before shooting himself, called his friends and told them that he was bidding farewell to this world.

A country-made pistol and a bike have been recovered from near the body.

The police said Ankit had a bullet entry mark below his eye, which had exited from the back of his head. The police came to know of the incident after his friends informed the police control room. The two friends to whom Ankit had made a video call before committing suicide were identified as Sameer and Rahul.

BBD Inspector Ajay Narayan Singh said the investigation so far had revealed that Ankit inclined towards spiritualism. "He used to run a garment shop. Further action will be taken on the basis of inquiry from family members and investigation," the inspector said.

His marriage was due in four months. His father, Brijesh Pathak, works in a private company in Rampur.
