LUCKNOW: Nearly half of heart attack victims die because they do not get to reach the hospital within an hour of developing symptoms.
Speaking at an interactive session organised by the ‘Helping Hearts Foundation’ to commemorate ‘World Heart Day’ , cardiologist, Dr Lokendra Gupta said that often attendants of patients confuse the heart attack symptoms with that of indigestion and lose precious time , causing death in many cases.
Dr Mansoor Hasan shared his experience of a heart attack. He said, “ Golden hour’ is not only useful in saving lives of heart attack patients but also in other emergencies like brain strokes, snake bites, and accidents.” Dr Mohammad Ahmad of ELMCH said that about 90% of valve issuesare preventable.
