‘Timely aid cures kids of cancer’

Lucknow: Early diagnosis improves survival in paediatric cancers significantly. Parents should seek timely medical evaluation if children show persistent symptoms such as unexplained fever, swelling, fatigue, or weight loss. This was advised by experts at an awareness programme held to mark World Childhood Cancer at KGMU, with an awareness rally as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month activities. Prof Nishant Verma spoke on common myths and facts related to childhood cancers, noting that delayed medical attention often complicated treatment. Prof S P Verma discussed survivorship, stressing importance of follow-up care and rehabilitation after treatment. Dr Vinod also underlined that prompt diagnosis and adherence to therapy protocols play a decisive role in improving outcomes.
