Three minor children allegedly employed in child labour were rescued from a hotel in Naka area on Tuesday noon.

LUCKNOW: Three minor children allegedly employed in child labour were rescued from a hotel in Naka area on Tuesday noon. In the morning, a sub-inspector and two constables from Badaun district reached Lucknow.
Around six months back, three children Sanjeev (12), Yaadram (11) and Anil Kumar (9) went missing from Hazratpur area in Badaun. A case pertaining to charges amounting to kidnapping was pressed against unknown persons.

Sanjeev and Yaadram are paternal cousins while Anil used to stay in the same village.
According to police, on Sunday Yaadram made call to his mother from a cellphone and asked for help. His father then contacted Hazratpur police who in turn alerted their counterparts in the city. The number was put under electronic surveillance and its location was found in Naka area near G B Marg.
The local police were asked to work on the lead and from informers learned that three minor children were working at Jai Bharat hotel. On Tuesday noon Badaun and Naka police jointly raided the hotel. District Labour office was also informed about presence of the minor children. In charge of Naka police station, inspector Vijay Prakash Singh said that owner of the hotel Sunil Kumar was detained by cops.
The children gave their statement before an official from labour department. Singh added that official instructed Kumar to pay Rs 25,000 to each boy and action had been initiated against him by the department under Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act.
