Shobhit, (11), was allegedly thrashed on Nov 19, a day after the meeting, at Shri Krishna Gulab Devi Inter College in Ramnagar area.

The matter came to light Saturday when his parents approached the cops. Barabanki SP Dinesh Singh said an FIR had been filed against principal OP Verma and that a probe was on.

Verma is accused of hitting Shobhit with a stick, causing fractures in his left arm, police said. Shobhit's mother has also alleged that Verma reportedly snubbed her when she went to complain against the beating, telling her "do whatever you want". Shobhit's father Rakesh Kumar Verma said his son's arm was still in a cast. The parents have demanded action against the principal as well as the school administration.
