Tenants attack landlord, friends over unpaid rent

LUCKNOW: Following a dispute allegedly over unpaid rent, a tenant and his aides opened fire at the landlord and his friends and attacked them with a knife in Chinhat on Thursday night.
As per police reports, the landlord, Sooraj (20), is a resident of Indiranagar.
Around 9pm on Thursday, he and his friends Atul, Abhishek and Lakhan went to his former tenants Ajeet and Vikki near Vasudev Degree College in Chinhat to ask for the Rs 700 remaining as rent.
The duo was sitting inside a car along with two of their aides.
“When we asked for the remaining amount, they started abusing us, after which a verbal spat erupted. In a meantime, they opened fire at us in which we suffered injuries,” said Sooraj.
To save themselves, Sooraj and his friends escaped but Ajeet and his aides followed them. They then attacked them with a knife, further injuring them. “The hunt for the four is on and they will be nabbed very soon,” said station house officer of Chinhat police station Anand Shahi.
An FIR has been registered against Ajeet, Vikki and their two aides for voluntarily causing hurt, voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons, intentional insult, criminal intimidation and assault.
