LUCKNOW: Blood-stained bodies of two teenage boys were recovered from railway tracks in Banthara on Thursday. The victims were identified as
Vinod Yadav (20) of Malihabad and Shubham Singh (21) of Kakori. The victims' hands were tied with ropes. Vinod's throat had been slit while there were injury marks on Shubham's body. Police suspect the duo was killed over a property dispute.
The duo had allegedly left for Malhiabad to settle a land dispute with Vinod's uncle Jagannath.
Vinod's cousin Saroj stated in his FIR that he got a call from Shubham around 7.30pm on Wednesday. Shubham was crying and said, “In logon ne Vinod ko maar diya hai, bachalo (they have killed Vinod. Save me),“ Saroj said. Shubham further told Saroj that he was being held hostage by some men in the thickets near Piparsand railway station in Sarojininagar.Thereafter, Shubham's phone snapped. Saroj approached Sarojininagar police but they allegedly asked him to contact Kakori or Malihabad police. Around 9.40am on Thursday, they found the bodies of Vinod and Shubham near railway tracks in Lonha village of Banthara.

Praveen Kumar said preliminary probe indicates that killers might have intoxicated the duo and pushed them from a running train. The autopsy will reveal the exact cause of death, he added.
