Bijnor: UP police on Monday issued a look- out notice for Muneer - the prime accused in the murder of National Investigating Agency officer Tanzil Ahmed. Police are having a tough time in tracking Munir Ahmed, main accused in the murder of National Investigation Agency (NIA) officer Tanzil Ahmed, as he does not carry a mobile phone. According to sleuths as well as Ahmed's family, Munir holds the key to the mystery behind Tanzil's brutal murder.
Just two days ago, DGP had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for any information about him.
A police source told TOI, "Munir is well aware of all the methods that police and investigative agencies use to catch criminals. That is why he has been successful in evading us for the last nine days. We have been unable to trace him via electronic surveillance methods because he does not use a mobile phone permanently. Since he does not have a cell phone, we are picking up some of his friends and asking them about his whereabouts. " During his visit to Bijnor, DGP Javeed Ahmed had told media that they had questioned more than 100 people in the case and gathered some clues. A source said, "We are waiting for Munir's arrest and then there will be a major revelation. We have our own theories as to why the murder was committed but only Munir will be able to corroborate what we know so far. He will also tell us whether he was on the bike that night or he got someone else to do it for him."
