on Tuesday granted oneday parole to rape
survivor’s uncle
Mahesh Singh to attend the last rites of his wife who was killed in the road accident on Sunday.
A bench of Justice Mohd FA Khan directed the superintendent of Rae Bareli district jail to allow Singh to perform the last rites of his wife at Gangaghat in
Unnao
on Wednesday. The court directed Rae Bareli DM and SSP to ensure tight security for Mahesh Singh during parole.
The court directed officials to bring Singh back to the jail by Wednesday evening after the cremation.
Singh’s wife was travelling with the Unnao rape survivor when their car was hit by a speeding truck in Rae Bareli. She was declared brought dead at KGMU Singh is serving a sentence in an attempt to murder case. His appeal against the conviction is pending in high court.
