LUCKNOW: In yet another hit-and-run case, a police sub-inspector posted at Gomtinagar police station was killed in a road accident in Gautampalli police station area on Sunday. The incident was reported in the evening of December 8.
Police said that sub-inspector Ram Shanker was going towards Jiamau for foot patrolling when a motorcyclist racing from 1090 crossing knocked him down. Passersby and cops present on the spot immediately rushed him to the RMLNIMS and later to the trauma centre of KGMU.
ADCP, central, Rajesh Srivastava said that he succumbed to injuries at the trauma centre.
Srivastava said the motorcyclist was identified as Abdul Ahad Khan of Chowk.
"We have registered a case in this connection and the accused will be arrested soon," he said.
