Sub-inspector killed in encounter with dacoit Babli Kol gang

LUCKNOW: A sub-inspector was today killed in an encounter with dacoits of the Babli Kol gang in the Manikpur area in Chitrakoot district, police said.
"Sub-Inspector Jai Prakash Singh lost his life in an encounter with the Babli Kol gang in the Nihi Chirayaa jungle in the Manikpur area of Chitrakoot district," Additional Director General (Law and Order) Anand Kumar told reporters here.
Singh hailed from Jaunpur district, he said.
"The gunfight is underway. The members of the gang have also been hit. Senior officers have been rushed to the spot," he said.
